wow...What a disaster... BAU were hit by flood..
KUCHING: Some 8,000 people in several parts of Bau District were hit by flood yesterday.
Continuous heavy rain and King Tide caused Sungai Sarawak Kanan to overflow its banks and eventually forced more than 50 families out of their homes.
As at 4pm, 17 families from Kampung Suba Buan (including nine that moved out on Friday) had been evacuated after the flood rose to eight feet.
The village became unreachable by road following heavy rain since Friday coupled with King Tide at 5.5 metres.
The evacuees are currently living with their relatives and food has been distributed to them by the Welfare Department.
In Kampung Pengkalan Baru one family had been evacuated; Kampung Buso, 15; Kampung Tembawang Sauh, four; and Kampung Sibuluh, three.
Sixteen Kampung Stenggang families also moved out but were allowed to return after the flood receded in the afternoon.
Students residing at SMK Bau’s hostels were also asked to move out in the morning and then allowed to return in the afternoon.
Four families in Kampung Melayu Siniawan and 10 from Kampung Tanjong Bau had been told to get ready for evacuation anytime.
Roads submerged by the flood were Jalan Taiton (two to three feet), Jalan Pijuru (one to three feet), Jalan Jonjang (four to five feet) and Jalan Suba Buan (seven feet), affecting about 8,000 villagers living near Sungai Sarawak Kanan.
Meanwhile, water had risen to one foot at Tondong Bazaar.
Bau District Officer Tom Hen Mijod pointed out that the flood started to rise since early morning.
The flood operations team would continue to monitor the situation and alert the people from time to time, he said, adding that 24 evacuation centres had been set up in Bau.
According to online data on river level issued at 4.35 yesterday by the Department if Irrigation and Drainage (DID), some low-lying areas were facing major floods as the water in the river was nearing the danger level.
DID’s telemetry station at Buan Bidi (Bau) showed the level at 17.53 metres — over two metres above normal (15 metres). The danger level is 17.80 metres.
Kuala Sungai Maong station read 2.15 metres against the normal one metre, while the danger level is 2.80 metres.
Batu Kawa’s station read 2.67 metres against the normal two metres, while the danger level is 4.20 metres.
Siniawan’s station read 5.94 metres against the normal four metres, while the danger level is 7.20 metres.
The Meteorological Services Department forecast rain and thunderstorms in Kuching for the next few days throughout the day until Jan 14.
Intermittent rain, occasional heavy rain, and isolated rain are expected throughout the state.
On sea condition, the waves would be between 3.5 and 4.5 metres.
The department has warned that any shipping and beach activities would be dangerous. The wind direction is north-east with a velocity of between 50 and 60 kilometres per hour.

aku dah balik skull...
hehe.. malas la aku nak ingat yang dah stat sems baru nie.. byk maw buat.. daftar subjek la.. wat jadual study la.. study lag.. sot kali sia nie.. susah la maw mula sumtun yg bru nie..
nie lagi hal tutor n assgmnt.. bikin susah juga.. huhu.. tp apa leh buat dah asam garam jd student... lect 1st aku dah stat rabu lepas... agak interesting juga la.. me, takin fisologi.. hahaha... kalah budak med bha... nie maw p tgh fungsi2 otak lg, anatomi lg... seram juga la.. pastu ada 10 sesi lab yng aku rasa mungkin memenatkan.. huhuhu...
alamak.. laptop aku low batt... jap lagi ku sambung... laoshi maw sampai..

holiday is the best tym of the year... hahahhaa lol..
dude... i'm on holiday.. haha.. sorry i got no tym to manage my blog lately... my holiday was full of great stuff to be in.. with just little tym to spend my holiday with my famly n my beloved one.. i dun think i want to mess up tis only tym i got.. nice eh.. lots of things is happenin all the holiday... hehe.. met lots of old friends n sum of them, let just say... bluerks.. sumbung banar.. hahaha.. hey i got no tym now. i'll come with my holiday news later.. bye 4 now.. i got x-mas eve dinner ti shop.. bye.. n..

life during FESTARI ZAPIN 2008
so suda sampai masa sia kasi tau pasal tym p festari zapin ari tu.. Festari Zapin Makum tahun nie lain skit berbanding thn2 sebelumnya.. kalo dlu..zapin joho je yg kena kasi bawa... yg len teda... n taun nie 1st tym UMS ekot festari nie... so for 1st tymer nie.. kami ndak la expect apa2 tok bawa balik.... kami p sana pun latihan 1 minggu ja.. bawa zapin besa jak... zapin tingkah talu dari suku kaum tidung... tahun nie bole bawa suma jenis zapin dari malaysia n dak terhad kepada zapin joho jak.. tu la kami ambik kesempatan mau kasi tonton org dengan zapin dr sabah nie... syiok.. byk2 zapin, zapin nie yang sa plg suka...
Festival ni berlansung 1 - 3 of december yang lepas.. sebanyak 18 buah universiti d malaysia ni yang ekot... UMS antar 10 org penari n suma penari lelaki.. tp kami ada bwa juga penari perempuan jadi pembantu tok make-up, teknikal n tolong2 gawatkan kegawatan grup.. hahahaha, si faye, tina n bibie yng kena kasi ikut degan xifu...
lelaki y pigi, sa, veon, zami, cass, mus, wan, reza, lio, juan n ludin.. hehe.. gabungan byk sekolah d ums(or fakulti la)
tu na d atas muka2 kami y pg.. hahaha.. best la p sana... 1st tym ekot kami dapat juga anugera..sekurang2nya kami ndak pulang dengan tangan kosong ja.. ada juga piala bawa balik kan..cantikkan piala tue... hehehe..
more news to come.. banyak lagi cita nanti sia tambah.. z nie..

yeepi.. finally i'm home at last...
hah... sorry cant make it these few days.. i'm at kampung oledy.. so mean no internet.. hahaha... but now i'm at my house in bandar mutiara so can la go on9.. tap kejap ja nie.. nanti balik lagi kampung.. nie p anta mama i p keja nie.. tu la pat singgah jap kat umah..
so hepi la i'm home at last.. hehe.. sa balik umah 5 dec ari tue.. flite trs dr kl lepas festival zapin makum 2008 d upm.. heheh tiket free geng.. ums yang tanggung... jimat duit aku pakai x mas nanti..
balik2 jak aku kena suruh balik kampung oleh parents.. so dgn rasa hepinya aku ambik kunci keta n drive blik kampung.. hehehe.. 2 pasal la tak on9 beberapa hari nie.. dari pg upm lagi 1-5 tue.. hehehe..
nanti lo ada masa nanti sa kasi crita pasal festival zapin makum 2008.. tgu jak...
